“It became quite a challenge to work with all the parties involved … particularly with property owners and council members who had little to no experience with such a large complex transaction. Larry did a wonderful job of pulling all the pieces together to satisfy all the stakeholders while maintaining a high degree of professionalism.”

Testimonials

I am the former mayor of Spring Hill, Kansas and worked with Larry Lundine from the beginning of the development of Sycamore Ridge Golf Course in Spring Hill. Larry was quite persistent about sharing his idea for a golf course in Spring Hill. He believed in its success and worked diligently to see the project to fruition.

Larry brought extensive experience in local government, with particular expertise in zoning regulations and financing alternatives. He was able to develop a financing package that was feasible and acceptable for all parties involved.

It became quite a challenge to work with all the parties involved in the golf course deal, particularly with property owners and council members who had little to no experience with such a large and complex transaction. Larry did a wonderful job of pulling all the pieces together to satisfy all the stakeholders while maintaining a high degree of professionalism.

I would welcome the opportunity to work with Larry in the future.

Our experience working with Larry Lundine has been extremely rewarding. The City of Parchment, Michigan was hit hard by the decline of the paper industry and back in 2001, the Crown Vantage Paper Company closed its doors declaring bankruptcy and laying off more than 250 employees. The company accounted for 50 percent of the community’s tax base prior to going bust. Larry advised community leaders and worked to develop strategies to turn the vacant plant into a viable mixed-use redevelopment project.

How was Mr. Lundine able to do this?

By use of his expert knowledge and expertise in Brownfield rehabilitation, understanding of complicated funding tools and longstanding relationships with developers, financiers and environmental practices, Mr. Lundine was instrumental in guiding our small community to a realistic and appropriate reuse of the property. He was able to put together a team of partners that were positive, hardworking and creative thinking in their approach to our problem. He managed multiple fronts in addressing soil contamination, regulatory hurdles and even worked to enact new legislation in the state of Michigan to allow for a new approach to this type of remediation. And, most of all, Larry was always available to the community in promoting our strategy, developing that necessary groundswell of community support for our efforts and reassuring our citizens that we were on the right track. This proved invaluable as community leaders agonized over very difficult decisions that will shape the future of our community long into the future.

The citizens of Parchment have been fortunate to have an expert like Larry Lundine working on their behalf.

Mr. Larry Lundine was associated with Burns & McDonnell form 1996 through the summer of 2001. His responsibilities included project development, project finance and marketing of our services related to golf course planning, design, finance, construction and operation. Unfortunately the economic downturn of 2001 resulted in our cessation of business activities in that service area.

We are please to recommend Mr. Lundine to any potential employer or contractor and to serve as a reference for him. Larry has excellent marketing skills underpinned by his knowledge of project finance and development. He is tenacious in his efforts, attentive to quality, adept at understanding the customer and in delivering on his commitments. He also recognizes the real cost of doing business and exhibits appropriate concern for stewardship of the company’s resources.

Mr. Lundine will be an asset to any organization seeking a dedicated business professional in finance, project development and marketing.

I have been working with Larry on a possible project in conjunction with New Century Air Center in Johnson County, Kansas. During that period of time, I was Chairman of the Johnson County Airport Commission and we have some clear space associated with the airport that we would like to turn into a productive asset. I have also worked with Larry on two private golf course related projects.

Related to golf courses, Larry and I have worked together to consider the purchase of effluent water from our waste water district as opposed to the purchase of treated drinking water for golf course irrigation purposes.

Larry has a lot of strong suits, but clearly his technical and financial skills rate among his best qualities. I think he knows as much about how golf courses need to work financially in order to be successful as anybody that I’ve run into. Larry doesn’t purport to be Tom Fazio or Robert Trent Jones, but rather handles these projects on a businesslike basis with a very close eye to crunching the numbers and looking towards the bottom line. His follow up has been outstanding and the attention to detail was something that we frankly were not expecting.

I would give Larry the highest recommendation insofar at your project is concerned.

“Working with Lundine & Associates has been a true pleasure. Larry is reliable, diligent, creative and keeps the end-goal in focus. He is able to deliver the right team of experts to the table up front on a deal. Larry also understands the value and limitations of insurance in the brownfield redevelopment process and works very well with both insurance brokers and companies to negotiate appropriate and comprehensive insurance packages. Somehow, Larry makes the whole process fun.”
